I cashed out but haven't received my money

As a valued participant of Prolific, you've worked hard contributing to world-changing research, so we get that it can be frustrating when you experience issues receiving cashout.

Luckily, it is usually the case that you are just yet to "claim" your payment from us. To do this, simply check your email from PayPal and follow the instructions to see those riches in your wallet in no time.


To claim the payment:

  1. Click the link provided in the email from PayPal.
  2. If you have a PayPal account, Log In. Otherwise, click Sign Up.

If your payment is unclaimed, cancelled or reversed or you've accidentally cashed out to the wrong email address, don't worry. Your payment will automatically be returned to us by PayPal. Our Participant Support Team will return the payment to your account and let you know when this is done!

This process is called Reconciliation, and will be carried out every Tuesday and Thursday. Payments are returned to us after 30 days, so please allow 30-35 days from the date of your cashout for your payment to be returned. For example, your payment is returned to us by PayPal on the 30th day which is a Friday. We'll return it to your account on Tuesday, the 34th day.

Please note: Occasionally, PayPal has issues processing instant cash outs. In these cases, the cash out is added to our queue to be processed on our next cash out day. We process cash outs on Tuesday and Friday afternoon (GMT). For example, if you cash out on a Wednesday, you will receive your money on Friday. We'd ask that you please wait until after the cash out day to contact us.
